Movementor Pilates, established in 2010, is one of Christchurch's original Comprehensive Studio Pilates spaces, located on Colombo Street in Beckenham. The studio's Pilates equipment groups and mat classes are taught by comprehensively qualified Pilates teachers who have passed rigorous examination to complete their training, offering individualised, tailored sessions using the reformer, trapeze table, Wunda chair, ladder barrel, spine corrector and matwork.
Movementor has built a highly respected reputation and referral base with a wide network of Christchurch health practitioners, including physios, osteopaths, sports specialists and massage therapists, and serves as a training facility for Polestar Pilates, New Zealand's leading Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training organisation. The studio is led by Director Abbey Parsons, a Polestar Pilates Educator of 16 years and recipient of the Special Pilates Aotearoa Award for service to Pilates in NZ in 2025, alongside a team of instructors with backgrounds spanning dance, physiotherapy, yoga and elite gymnastics.
