Day to day, the clinic covers the full rhythm of pet ownership. Routine consultations take in vaccination, microchipping, health screening and export health documentation. Internal medicine consultations are supported by in-house blood, urine and faecal testing, and pets that need to stay are hospitalised with medication and IV fluid administration.
Surgical services run from desexing to soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures, as well as laparoscopic keyhole surgery. Anaesthesia is treated with particular care: state-of-the-art anaesthetic machinery, monitoring of multiple parameters during procedures and a dedicated anaesthesia nurse all serve the goal of the safest possible procedure with a fast recovery time.
The in-house laboratory handles full blood work — blood counts, serum biochemistry and more specialised tests — plus cytology, microscopy work and full urinalysis. Diagnostic imaging includes digital radiographs for body and dental use, in-house ultrasound for body and heart, and video otoscopy for ears. Pets facing cancer can receive diagnosis and consultation and full in-house chemotherapy, with referral consultations available through a partner clinic for tailor-made chemotherapy protocols.
Pets that need to be warded are kept in separate dog and cat wards, with full hospitalisation facilities including oxygen cages and provision for 24-hour monitoring of animals in ICU.
Alongside conventional medicine, Hillside offers complementary therapy in the form of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
