About Rapha Physiotherapy (Seletar)

Rapha Physiotherapy is a Singapore physiotherapy practice operating from two locations, Potong Pasir and Seletar. The name Rapha means 'to restore', 'to make healthful', 'to make whole' in Hebrew, reflecting the clinic's stated commitment to helping clients get back to their goals without being slowed down by pain.

The clinic is led by Director and Chief Physiotherapist Dr Avalyn Heng Wan Xuan, who has worked in restructured hospital settings for more than 15 years, developed a strong interest in vestibular rehabilitation after a 2014 Master's scholarship in the USA, and was part of the medical team for Team Singapore at the 8th ASEAN Paragames in 2015. Clinic Director and Senior Principal Physiotherapist Dr Hanniel Lim brings over a decade of experience managing complex musculoskeletal pain, using neuroscience education, manual mobilisation and manipulation, dry-needling and therapeutic exercise, and holds a postgraduate master's and doctorate in physical therapy. Senior Physiotherapist Ms Jewel Wee specialises in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic inpatient rehabilitation, sports injuries, chronic pain and geriatric syndromes, and is also a certified Reformer and Mat Pilates instructor.

Rapha Physiotherapy offers evidence-based treatment across geriatric, neurological, vestibular, musculoskeletal and post-surgical rehabilitation, along with a home physiotherapy service for clients who find it difficult to travel to a clinic.

Rapha Physiotherapy: Restoring Movement Across Potong Pasir and Seletar

Rapha Physiotherapy operates from two Singapore locations, Potong Pasir and Seletar, offering evidence-based physiotherapy for a wide range of conditions. The clinic's name comes from the Hebrew word Rapha, meaning 'to restore', 'to make healthful', 'to make whole' — a philosophy the clinic says drives its approach to helping clients keep moving toward their goals despite aches or pain.

A Team with Deep Clinical Experience

Rapha is led by Director and Chief Physiotherapist Dr Avalyn Heng Wan Xuan, who has spent more than 15 years working in restructured hospital settings, treating everything from intensive care patients to those recovering after a stroke, with experience spanning Parkinson's, geriatric falls and musculoskeletal injuries. In 2014, she was awarded a scholarship to pursue a Master's Degree in the USA, which sparked a strong interest in vestibular rehabilitation for clients with dizziness and concussion. She was also selected for the medical team supporting Team Singapore at the 8th ASEAN Paragames in 2015, where her work with elite athletes led to a particular interest in helping stroke survivors return to running. She is also an educator, mentoring therapists toward full licensing board registration and running teaching trips to Laos and Sri Lanka through SingHealth and the Singapore International Foundation.

Clinic Director and Senior Principal Physiotherapist Dr Hanniel Lim brings more than a decade of clinical experience managing complex musculoskeletal pain, combining neuroscience education, hands-on manual mobilisation and manipulation, dry-needling and therapeutic exercise. He holds a postgraduate master's degree in clinical musculoskeletal physiotherapy and a doctorate in physical therapy, and in 2019 received the MOH-Health Manpower Development Plan Award for a clinical fellowship in managing musculoskeletal pain in primary care with the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust in the UK. His interests include musculoskeletal and orthopaedic pain, sports injuries and men's pelvic health, and he has published physiotherapy research in internationally-renowned journals.

Senior Physiotherapist Ms Jewel Wee has a strong background in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic inpatient rehabilitation, treating sports injuries, chronic pain and geriatric syndromes. She holds a Master's in Advanced Clinical Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal) from Australia, has published her own research, and is also a certified Reformer and Mat Pilates instructor.
