Andrew worked in London and the UAE before co-founding the Singapore office in 2009, bringing over two decades of experience to the practice. His work spans wet and dry shipping, offshore contracts, marine insurance and commodity trading, covering everything from complex collisions and groundings to contract wordings and arbitration. He works closely with owners, charterers, P&I Clubs, insurers and trading houses.
Andrew's experience includes advising ship owners in prosecuting an unsafe port claim at arbitration following a major grounding incident, which resulted in a successful settlement. He has also successfully defended offshore support vessel owners against a US$140 million claim arising from a gas pipeline rupture in South East Asia, and assisted ship managers in defending collision claims in the US while securing an indemnity from previously reluctant European insurers. His practice has also pursued and defended numerous claims relating to off-spec bunkers, and reached the Supreme Court in Norway in a case involving a direct action against insurers following a collision.
