About Yantra

Yantra is a fine dining Indian restaurant at Tanglin Mall in Singapore, designed by Matthew and Paul of MSDO across five uniquely Indian spaces inspired by décor from across the subcontinent, from silk wallpapers to a stately, fort-inspired entrance. The restaurant's culinary direction is shaped by culinary historian Pritha Sen alongside Executive Chef Pinaki Ray, offering an extensive menu of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes drawing on niche ingredients sourced from across the Subcontinent and South East Asia.

The menu spans small and large plates, biryanis, breads and sweets, alongside a set Executive Lunch and a multi-course Experience Menu, giving diners a range of ways to explore the kitchen's take on Indian heritage cuisine — from kebabs and chaats to slow-cooked meats and tandoor-roasted dishes. Yantra is run by Restobars (S) Pte Ltd, which also operates the Corbett Bar and The Grand Trunk connected to the restaurant.

Yantra has been featured across Singapore's food and lifestyle press, including Lifestyle Asia, The Business Times, CNA Luxury, Timeout Singapore, Tatler Asia, AsiaOne and The Straits Times, with coverage highlighting its heritage-driven menu and its five distinct dining rooms inspired by India's landscapes.

Yantra: A Journey Through Indian Heritage Cuisine at Tanglin Mall

Tucked into Tanglin Mall, Yantra is built to feel like a journey through India rather than a single dining room. The restaurant unfolds across five uniquely Indian spaces, each designed by Matthew and Paul of MSDO, drawing on décor that spans the depths of the subcontinent — from silk wallpapers to a stately, fort-inspired entrance.

A Menu Shaped by History

Yantra's food is guided by culinary historian Pritha Sen working alongside Executive Chef Pinaki Ray, and the pairing shows in a menu built around heritage rather than trend. The kitchen sources niche ingredients from across the Subcontinent and South East Asia, and the result is an extensive spread of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes spanning small plates, large plates, biryanis, breads and sweets.

Small Plates and Kebabs

The small plates section reads like a tour of regional specialities — Kolkata Club Kachori and Rajasthani Mirchi Vada sit alongside Andhra-spiced Royalla Vepudu prawns, charcoal-grilled Nizam's Kathi Kebabs, and a Wagyu beef Hyderabadi Patthar Gosht finished with homemade garam masala. Vegetarian options are equally considered, from Achari Paneer Tikka to a Faizabadi Shammi Kebab made with minced lotus root.

Large Plates and Signature Curries

On the large plates side, Yantra leans into slow-cooked classics: Nihari Gosht (slow-cooked goat with brown onion and house spices), Sutta Gosht (slow cooked goat with black cumin and fennel), and Chingri Malaikari, king prawns in coconut milk and garam masala. The standout is arguably the Lobster Chiney Kebab, made with Maine lobster tail in coconut milk, alongside Purani Dilli Murgh Makhani and a Kerala Fish Curry built on red snapper, coconut and tamarind.

Biryanis, Breads and Sweets

Rice dishes include a Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani, a vegetarian Nawabi Tarkari Biryani, and a Rampur Mutton Biryani made with meat two ways. Breads run from naan and tandoori roti to kulcha and paratha, while the sweets list closes things out with options like Gajar Halwa, Rasmalai, and a saffron-flavoured crispy Jalebi Rabri.

Set Menus for Every Occasion

For a more guided experience, Yantra offers an Executive Set Lunch on Tuesdays through Sundays at S$58 per person, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions each including starters, a choice of main, sides like poriyal and jeera pulao, dal and naan, and a dessert of the day. For special occasions, the multi-course Experience Menu at S$148 per person takes diners through a longer tasting journey, from pickled tomato and kumquat through to tandoori mains and a dessert selection including gulab jamun cheesecake and petit fours.

Recognised Across Singapore's Food Press

Yantra has picked up coverage across Singapore's dining media, including Lifestyle Asia (which singled out the butter chicken), The Business Times, CNA Luxury, Timeout Singapore, Tatler Asia, AsiaOne and The Straits Times — with write-ups consistently pointing to its heritage-driven menu and its five distinct, India-inspired dining rooms.
