The clinicians at OCC bring long track records from Singapore's dental institutions and beyond. Dr. Wong Soon May Adeline, a prosthodontist, graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bronze Medal in 1994, later completing a double Master's in Dental Public Health and Prosthodontics in Manchester, UK, on a Ministry of Health scholarship, and spent over a decade working across the School Dental Service, National Dental Centre and NUH Dental Centre before joining OCC.
Dr. Kaan Sheung Kin, an orthodontist, trained in Glasgow, Scotland in 1989 and ran his own specialist orthodontic practice for 17 years before joining OCC in 2011. He has taught at NUS's Faculty of Dentistry for 28 years and has particular interests in interceptive orthodontics for children, growth modification, combined orthodontic-surgical management of adult skeletal discrepancies, and orthodontic treatment for children and young adults with special needs.
Dr. Ng Yuk Ching (Isabelle), an endodontist, came to Singapore as an ASEAN scholar and went on to earn a Master of Dental Surgery in Endodontics from NUS, alongside a Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. She served at the National Dental Centre Singapore for a decade, was awarded the Singapore Health Quality Service Award in 2011 and 2012, and lectured on dental traumatology and pulp regeneration.
Dr. Yasmin Akrum, a periodontist, completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at NUS in 1992 and a Master's in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute, University of London, in 1995, before returning to government service at the National Dental Centre for advanced training in gum disease treatment, grafting and implant surgery.
Several of OCC's doctors — Dr. Wong, Dr. Kaan, Dr. Vijayan and Dr. Yasmin — have volunteered together on dental missions across South East Asia, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and Zambia since 1998. That shared humanitarian work has helped shape a common practice philosophy and close professional relationships among the team.
