The AA Centre at 126 Riccarton Road is a branch of the New Zealand Automobile Association serving Riccarton in west Christchurch, holding a 3.7 rating on Google. AA centres act as driver-licensing agents, so these counters are where many New Zealanders renew a licence, apply for a learner licence or convert an overseas licence. The most useful habit is checking the required documents before setting out — applications are turned away without the right evidence of identity, and licence photos are usually taken on site. Centres also issue international driving permits and handle membership, roadside assistance and travel enquiries. Timing matters at any licensing counter: the lunchtime rush is real, and a quiet mid-morning visit with paperwork in hand can spare you a second trip. For Riccarton locals, it's a handy counter for all that paperwork without a trip into the central city.
