Cassels The Brewery Bar and Restaurant is a family-owned craft brewery and restaurant at The Tannery, 3 Garlands Road in Woolston, Christchurch. The beer is brewed on site in a purpose-built facility that the family has run since 2009, and the restaurant is at the front of the Tannery shopping boutique.
The famous woodfired pizzas are the main draw, served with the house craft beers, along with other food made from local and ethically sourced ingredients. The restaurant is family friendly and relaxed. Online bookings are for parties of eight or fewer, and larger bookings go by email. The restaurant is open every day from 8am to 9pm, and the website offers 10 per cent off a first order for members who sign up. Our view is that it is a good choice for a relaxed pizza and beer night in Woolston.
