CAT GROOMER CHCH is a home-based grooming service for cats, listed at 173b Waltham Road in Sydenham, Christchurch. The website describes it as cats only, with the occasional bunny, and says the groomer has previous vet nursing and dog grooming experience. The business says it does not sedate, uses fear-free handling and never scruffs a cat. It uses treats and short breaks, and grooms one cat at a time. If only part of a groom can be done because of a cat's temperament, the website offers a partial refund, and a full refund if the cat cannot be groomed at all. Bath and dry services are not offered. A monthly topical flea treatment with application is listed at $25 as at 2026, for cats within nine weeks of their last groom. Bookings are made by email or the form on the website.
Reviews are mixed. One praises the groomer's talent with cats, and says the knots and tangles were removed from a long-haired cat that dislikes brushing. Two others are critical. One says the experience was memorable, but not for the right reasons. Another says they are not happy with the service, the result or the business's integrity, and wants others to avoid the same experience.
