About Cracroft Reserve

A small reserve on Hackthorne Road in Cashmere, Christchurch, with walks and a lookout that many visitors know as the Sign of the Takahe. Visitors praise the view from the second lookout, which takes in much of Christchurch, while the first is blocked by bushes. The reserve is good for children and dogs, but parking is a challenge, and the stairs to the lookout have no wheelchair access. The path suits prams, though it has some large steps, and one visitor finds the reserve small compared with nearby Victoria Park.
