About Halswell Quarry Preschool

Halswell Quarry Preschool is a locally owned and operated early learning centre in Halswell, Christchurch, built around sensory-rich, nature-based play spaces. The centre's centrepiece is a central rainforest area described as an oasis for rest and discovery, alongside spacious learning rooms and outdoor natural play areas with real grass and trees, water play, heights, tunnels, and dark sensory caves, plus loose parts play that lets children create and reimagine their own play equipment.

Beyond preschool, Halswell Quarry Preschool also offers before and after school care for school-aged children. The centre provides as many real-life experiences as possible, including spontaneous visitors and field trips to nearby parks and farmland, alongside extracurricular programmes covering sports, outdoor cooking, music and dance, yoga and mindfulness, and a transition-to-school programme. An on-site chef prepares all meals, and the centre offers 20 Hours ECE.
