Forest Park Basketball Hoop is a basketball hoop at 12 Queenspark Dr in Parklands, Christchurch, listed as a gym. A public hoop runs on different terms from a membership gym: no timetable, no sign-up, just a ball and whatever the weather is doing. Shared-court etiquette does the work of a schedule — when others are waiting, games run first-in with winners staying on, and lone shooters keep their turns short. After rain, concrete stays slick longer than people expect, so grippy shoes and a towel for the ball are worth bringing. Regulars treat shooting practice as a workout in itself: sprint-and-layup drills and free-throw routines cover fitness, touch and concentration in half an hour. On Queenspark Dr, it puts a shootaround within easy reach of Parklands locals.
