About Cashmere Presbyterian Church

Cashmere Presbyterian Church is the stone church on the hill at the corner of Dyers Pass Road and MacMillan Avenue in Cashmere, Christchurch. It is a Group 3 historic building, designed by Cecil Wood and Richard Harman in the Gothic style, with pointed angles and a steep grey slate roof. Morning worship is held each Sunday at 10am in a participatory, contemporary style. There is a family service on the second Sunday of each month, communion is held quarterly, and a healing service is held at 11.30am on the third Sunday. Visitors are welcome to worship, and sermons are available online.

The church and its facilities are hired for weddings, events, conferences, and business and community meetings. The facilities include a large, versatile lounge and a commercial grade kitchen, as well as the church itself. Reviewers describe the weddings held here as beautiful and well prepared, and one says the ceremony was heartfelt and thoughtfully organised. Another calls it a lovely old church with good facilities, and says the flower beds outside were a highlight. Enquiries go through the church office, and a virtual tour and the online calendar are available.
