EduExperts Christchurch is part of the nationwide EduExperts tutoring network, established in 2011, offering after-school tutoring for primary, intermediate and high school students of all nationalities. The centre helps students excel academically and overcome learning difficulties across subjects including English, maths, science and more.
All classes are taught by experienced, qualified teachers who aim to make lessons interesting, informative and fun, while identifying gaps in a student's learning and working to bring their schoolwork up to the required level. New students can sit a free entrance test to identify their current achievement level so they can be placed in the programme best suited to their individual learning needs.
Beyond core subjects, EduExperts offers courses in computer science and programming, a High School Preparation Course (HSPC) for Year 8 students sitting common entrance exams, English as a foreign language (PME), Chinese language classes, Speech & Debating, and exam preparation for SAT/ACT and university-level MedView papers. The centre also helps prepare students for NCEA, Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB).
EduExperts' mission is to support every student to maximise their academic achievement and become a lifelong, responsible and creatively engaged learner.
EduExperts Christchurch is part of a nationwide tutoring network established in 2011, built around a simple idea: even with well-trained, dedicated teachers at school, some students don't reach their full potential without extra support. EduExperts steps in with after-school tutoring for primary, intermediate and high school students of all nationalities, covering everything from spelling and reading to maths, science and beyond.
EduExperts combines a high level of teaching with ongoing research and development, working with educational organisations, schools and publishing houses across New Zealand and overseas. Its approach is built on the idea of inspiring creativity while maximising potential, with content designed to align with and extend the New Zealand national syllabus.
In English classes, students work through varied themed texts with intensive reading training and writing exercises. Maths classes lean heavily on problem-solving to build logical understanding and reasoning, while science classes use scenario teaching and subject inquiry to encourage exploratory, high-interest learning.
EduExperts' offering extends well past English, maths and science. Its computer science course gives students a broad grounding in programming and algorithmic thinking, alongside web development, graphic design, animation, robot programming, video editing and 3D modelling.
For Year 8 students facing common entrance exams, the High School Preparation Course (HSPC) covers maths, English and reasoning/science, helping students build a strategy for exam day. Language learners are supported through the PME English course for those learning English as a foreign language, and through Chinese classes that prepare students for the HSK/YCT exams or help native speakers deepen their reading, writing and cultural understanding.
Students interested in public speaking can take the Speech & Debating course, which builds critical thinking, communication and research skills and can lead to a Trinity College London Speech Communication Arts exam. For those aiming to study in the US, EduExperts offers SAT and ACT tutoring delivered by tutors from Crimson Education, while MedView supports University of Auckland students with first-year medicine papers through workshops and one-on-one tutoring.
New students can sit a free entrance test, which identifies their current achievement level, strengths and knowledge gaps so they can be placed into the programme that best matches their individual learning needs. EduExperts also helps prepare students for major qualifications including NCEA, Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB).
As one of EduExperts' centres, the Christchurch branch draws on the same curriculum, teaching methodology and academic support available across the wider network, giving local students and families access to a well-established tutoring programme close to home.
