Angela's In-Home Childcare is a home-based early childhood service in Bishopdale, run from a house on Stretton Street. Angela holds the National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care at Levels 3 and 4, and has a current child first aid qualification. She has more than 14 years in the job. Her approach, as her website puts it, is to do things with each child rather than to them, with children as active participants who help shape their own learning. One customer on Google says Angela is the best educator in Bishopdale and that children learn a great deal in her care.
Care is given in her own home, so the setting is a family house rather than a purpose-built centre. Families join a waiting list by emailing their days and times, the start date they need and their child's date of birth. She also keeps a waiting-list-only option for families planning ahead. Within 1 km there are six other childcare listings on Open Locally, including Kindercare Learning Centres in Bishopdale about 0.4 km away, which has a 5.0 rating from 33 reviews, and Cotswold Preschool, also about 0.4 km away. Angela is listed on the Tiny Nation site, which lists educators with vacancies across Aotearoa.
