Lotus Day Spa is an award-winning, New Zealand-owned day spa set within the private Swan Lake Gardens in Cashmere, Christchurch. Established in 2008 and owned and operated by Duncan and Jeerana Laing, the spa pairs authentic Thai therapy traditions with luxurious modern treatments — from authentic Thai massage and pregnancy massage to ELEMIS facials, body treatments and couples' pampering packages ranging from three hours to a full day.
The setting is a large part of the magic. Treatments take place in luxuriously appointed, extremely private rooms, including couple's therapy rooms with double spa baths, all nestled within the multi-award-winning Swan Lake Gardens. Guests describe being welcomed with tea on arrival, and the calm of the gardens — complete with a lake and its resident swans, Ken and Barbie — makes the spa a genuine escape from everyday life.
The quality of the experience has been recognised well beyond Christchurch. As an official New Zealand ELEMIS Skincare Spa, Lotus also retails the ELEMIS range in-spa and online, and pours its own pure artesian water drawn from an on-site well, available in self-service containers or tanks. Gift vouchers for specific amounts or treatments are valid for 36 months. The spa is open seven days, 9am to 9pm, and closed on statutory holidays.
