Good framing is a matter of protecting the work as much as presenting it. Ask what glazing and mounting materials are used, and whether the glass filters light, since strong sun can fade paintings and prints. Mats can change how a small piece reads, so it helps to bring the artwork in person. If a piece arrives damaged, keep the packaging and photograph it before you contact the sender or the carrier.
