Posture Connection is a Singapore body-based therapy practice founded in 2008 by Hee Tan, a Certified Rolfer® also known as the "Singapore Rolfer." Hee graduated from the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, Colorado, and had the opportunity to study and mentor under first-generation Rolfers including Jim Asher, Gael Rosewood and Ray McCall. He has since taken further courses with the Upledger Institute and in NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT), with Frequency Specific MicroCurrent (FSM) being the latest addition to his practice.
The practice's core focus is posture correction, built around three main modalities: Rolfing® Structural Integration, which reorganises the fascia, soft tissue, skeletal structure and nervous system to bring the whole body into greater alignment; Frequency Specific MicroCurrent (FSM), a non-invasive, painless therapy using low-level electrical currents at specific frequencies to reduce inflammation, repair tissue and reduce pain; and Movement Therapy, which teaches the brain to move the body with more efficiency and less pain, promoting flexibility, coordination, body awareness and better alignment.
Every client's journey begins with a comprehensive assessment, from which Hee crafts a personalised plan that may draw on Rolfing, FSM, movement therapy, or a combination of the three. Beyond bodywork, Hee is also an experienced Ergonomics Consultant, holding a Master's Degree in Ergonomics from Linköping University (Sweden) and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).
At 585 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, Posture Connection has been helping clients address posture and pain since 2008, under the guidance of founder Hee Tan — known to many simply as the "Singapore Rolfer." The practice's approach centres on one idea: posture correction is the foundation of a healthy, active life, and getting there requires looking beyond surface-level treatment to the deeper structures that hold the body together.
Hee Tan graduated from the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, Colorado, earning his certification as a Rolfer®. Early in his career, he had the rare opportunity to study and mentor under some of the first generation of Rolfers, including Jim Asher, Gael Rosewood and Ray McCall — a lineage that shapes how he approaches bodywork today. Hee describes Rolfing as a way of understanding relationships and compensation patterns in the body as it functions upright in gravity, a perspective that runs through all three of the modalities offered at Posture Connection.
Hee has continued building his toolkit well beyond his original Rolfing training, taking further courses with the Upledger Institute and in NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT), with Frequency Specific MicroCurrent (FSM) representing the newest addition to his practice.
Rolfing® Structural Integration sits at the centre of Posture Connection's work, targeting the fascia — the connective tissue surrounding muscles and organs — to release, realign and balance the whole body. It's a method aimed at addressing root causes of pain rather than just symptoms, often leading to improvements in posture, pain relief and overall physical function.
Frequency Specific MicroCurrent (FSM) brings a more technology-driven option into the mix: a non-invasive, painless treatment using very low levels of electrical current, set at various frequencies, to reduce inflammation, repair tissue and reduce pain — all without medication or invasive procedures.
Movement Therapy rounds out the offering, teaching the nervous system to move the body more efficiently and with less pain. It's a gentle, educational approach that builds flexibility, coordination, body awareness and better alignment over time — practical skills clients can carry forward on their own.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all programme, every client's journey at Posture Connection begins with a comprehensive assessment. From there, Hee builds a personalised plan that may draw on Rolfing, FSM, movement therapy, or some combination of the three, depending on individual needs and goals. The aim isn't just symptom relief — it's equipping clients with the awareness and strategies to maintain and improve their own health independently over time.
Hee's interests extend beyond the treatment room. He's also an experienced Ergonomics Consultant, holding a Master's Degree in Ergonomics from Linköping University in Sweden and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore — training that feeds directly into his interest in functional movement and how postural alignment shapes daily life. Outside of work, Hee enjoys travelling to experience different cultures and the outdoors, and is an avid skier.
