About Bonding Kitchen Orchard Singapore

Bonding Kitchen is a modern Peranakan restaurant on Orchard Road, the first standalone restaurant from Chef Danny Chew, who brings over 25 years of culinary experience to the menu. Chef Danny began his career at 17 as a kitchen helper in a Chinese restaurant, later graduating from At-Sunrice Global Chef Academy in Singapore in 2011 and working at Asian restaurants including a four-year stint in Liverpool, UK. Deeply passionate about Peranakan cuisine, he previously ran a private dining service focused on the tradition in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, before introducing his take on Nyonya food to Singapore diners.

The menu spans appetisers like homemade Kueh Pie Tee and Ngoh Hiang, hearty soups such as Pong Tauhu and Itek Tim, signature meat dishes including Wagyu Beef Rendang and Ayam Buah Keluak, and seafood highlights like Crab Curry Masak Lemak Kunyit and Assam Kor Prawn. Set menus are available for those wanting a curated multi-course experience, alongside vegetables, homemade Chendol for dessert, and a beverage list featuring Bunga Telang Lemongrass Pandan and specialty drip bag coffee.

Beyond dine-in, Bonding Kitchen offers online delivery and pick-up, ready-cooked frozen meals for cooking at home, and a private dining Omakase experience called Bonding Kasih for dinner groups of 8 to 12 guests.

Bonding Kitchen: Chef Danny Chew's Modern Peranakan Restaurant on Orchard Road

Bonding Kitchen brings modern Peranakan cuisine to Orchard Road, marking the first standalone restaurant from Chef Danny Chew after more than 25 years in the culinary industry. Chef Danny's journey began at just 17 years old as a kitchen helper in a Chinese restaurant, and he went on to graduate from At-Sunrice Global Chef Academy in Singapore in 2011, working across multiple Asian restaurants including a four-year stint in Liverpool, UK.

A Chef's Deep Connection to Peranakan Cuisine

Chef Danny's passion for Peranakan food led him to run a private dining service focused on the tradition in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, before deciding to bring Singapore Nyonya food to a wider audience through Bonding Kitchen. The restaurant's philosophy centres on food quality and safety, backed by a cosy dining environment intended to make it a comfortable spot to explore authentic Peranakan dishes.

A Menu Rooted in Tradition

The à la carte menu opens with homemade Kueh Pie Tee, crispy shells filled with braised turnip, prawn, mushroom and pork belly, and Ngoh Hiang, deep-fried beancurd skin rolls packed with hand-chopped pork and shrimp. Soups include Pong Tauhu, a pork, shrimp and tofu meatball in a rich broth, and the pre-order-only Bakwan Kepiting, made with hand-chopped pork and crab meat.

On the meat side, Wagyu Beef Rendang and Pork Ribs Rendang are stewed slowly in coconut milk with more than 15 local herbs and spices until the sauce caramelizes around the meat, while Ayam Buah Keluak features braised chicken with Indonesian black nut and a spicy, tangy sauce. Seafood options range from Barramundi Fish Assam Pedas to Crab Curry Masak Lemak Kunyit, made with fresh turmeric and coconut milk, and Assam Kor Prawn, pan-seared and caramelized with tamarind paste.
