Lushkara Beauty is a Singaporean-owned salon that has been looking after Singapore since 2014, with outlets in Tampines and Bukit Batok. It began as a small neighbourhood salon founded on the belief that threading, henna, facials and head massage deserved to be done with patience and dignity, at a fair price, for everyone who walks in.
The salon's founders, Neelu and her sister-in-law, opened the first outlet in Tampines in 2014 after a conversation in 2013 with Neelu's younger sister, who coined the Lushkara name. A second salon opened in Jurong in 2019 but closed within its first month due to COVID shutdowns, with the Tampines outlet carrying the business through. In 2021, the next generation — Neelu's nephew and niece — joined as business partners, and in 2023 a new outlet opened at Le Quest Mall in Bukit Batok, bringing Lushkara back to two locations.
The team includes Lakshmi (Brows & Bridal, with twenty-plus years of bridal experience), Devi (Senior Therapist for facials, trained in classical and Korean techniques), Anita (Hair Specialist for henna, keratin and gentle colour), Meera (Brow Artist known for even threading in under ten minutes), Sunita (Bridal Makeup, known for calm, unhurried trials), and Kavita (Therapist for waxing). The salon describes itself as ladies-friendly and family-friendly, with single-use tools where it matters, transparent pricing, and no upselling.

The salon's story began in 2013 with a conversation between Neelu, her sister-in-law, and her younger sister, who agreed that Singapore's heartland salons weren't good enough for their neighbours. Neelu's sister coined the Lushkara name but, based overseas, couldn't join in running it — so Neelu and her sister-in-law took the idea forward together. The first outlet opened in Tampines in 2014, combining Neelu's background in logistics operations with her co-founder's service instincts from a career at Singapore Airlines.
The path wasn't smooth. A second salon opened in Jurong in November 2019, only for COVID shutdowns to force its closure within the first month of operation. The founders carried the full year's lease as a hard financial hit, and it was the original Tampines outlet that kept the business alive through that period. In 2021, Neelu's co-founder stepped back to spend more time with her young sons, and the next generation — her nephew and niece, both with backgrounds in business and finance — joined as partners, steadying the business over the following two years. In 2023, a new outlet opened at Le Quest Mall in Bukit Batok West, bringing Lushkara back to two locations.
Lushkara's therapists each bring their own specialism. Lakshmi handles brows and bridal work, drawing on more than twenty years of bridal experience. Devi, a senior therapist, is trained across both classical and Korean facial techniques. Anita specialises in hair — henna, keratin and gentle colour. Meera is known as the brow artist, delivering famously even threading in under ten minutes. Sunita leads bridal makeup with a calm, patient approach that never rushes a trial, while Kavita handles waxing with what the salon calls the fastest, gentlest hands on the team.
The treatment menu is organised into five areas: Brows, Face, Hair, Body, and Bridal & Party. Brow services range from eyebrow and upper lip threading through to full face threading, henna brows (which last up to six weeks), brow tinting, and a popular brow shape plus henna tint combination. The facial menu covers acne care, pigmentation, fruit, gold glow, anti-ageing and a dedicated men's facial for thicker, post-shave skin. Hair treatments include global colour with ammonia-free options, root touch-ups, henna hair treatment, keratin smoothing, hair spa, and a hot oil head massage using warm coconut or almond oil. On the body side, there's waxing across arms, legs, underarms and full body, plus bleach and manicure/pedicure services. Bridal and party offerings include bridal and party makeup, a pre-bridal package, mehendi/henna art, saree draping, and family group bookings for brides bringing along mums, sisters and guests.
For those short on time, Lushkara also offers popular combinations — a brow shape and henna tint duo done in under thirty minutes, a facial paired with a hot oil head massage, and a three-session Pre-Bridal Glow covering facial, threading and hair care.
