Global Art Jurong West is a branch of Global Art & Creative, an art enrichment programme for children that first originated in Malaysia in 1999 before its founder, Mr. Patrick Tan, established Global Art Singapore's first centre at Parkway in 2003. The Jurong West centre is led by Principal Ms Jasmine and is part of a network that has since grown to 30 centres across Singapore's shopping malls and heartlands.
Global Art's mission is to provide every child with a stepping stone to explore their artistic nature, through a complete and systematic programme designed to develop artistic skills, broaden creative thinking, and deepen interest in art. Rather than focusing purely on the finished artwork, the programme emphasises the creative process, guiding students to visualise, comprehend and compose their own subjects, backgrounds and colours.
The curriculum covers the foundations of drawing, from getting basic lines and shapes right through to more complex subject composition, perspective, colour harmony and life drawing, catering to students with or without prior artistic talent. Global Art Singapore also runs In-house and National art competitions annually, with National champions going on to represent Singapore at the International Global Art Competition, held in a different country each year. The programme also offers certificated grading examinations for students.

Global Art & Creative first originated in Malaysia in 1999, developed as a revolutionary art programme using new teaching techniques suited to individual learning capabilities. When the concept gained a foothold in Singapore, it was Patrick Tan who brought it to life locally, opening the first Global Art Singapore centre and building the brand into the extensive network it is today. Founder and Director Mahair Goh has spoken about the gap Global Art aims to fill — noting that while schools place heavy emphasis on languages, mathematics and sciences, art is often overlooked, despite nearly every subject requiring some form of illustration, diagram or drawing.
Rather than focusing on finished outcomes, Global Art's philosophy centres on the creative process itself. Students progress through a structured curriculum that starts with the basics — getting lines and shapes right — before advancing to subject composition, perspective, colour harmony and contrast, and eventually life drawing. This systematic approach is designed to cater to students of all abilities, whether or not they arrive with natural artistic talent.
Global Art Jurong West offers a structured pathway through five core programmes: Junior for ages 3-4, Foundation for ages 4-7, Pre-Basic for ages 7-9, Basic & Intermediate for ages 7-12, and Advanced for students aged 13 and above. Beyond this core pathway, the centre also offers additional programmes including Cartoon & Comic and Acrylic Painting for ages 7 and above, 3D Clay for ages 7 and above, Deco Art Workshop and G-Clay for ages 4 and above, and Cultural Art for ages 6 and above.
Global Art Singapore runs both In-house and National art competitions annually, giving students a chance to showcase their work and skills. Champions from the National Competition go on to represent Global Art Singapore at the International Global Art Competition, held in a different country each year — students have won numerous trophies and medals at this level over the years. The programme also offers certificated grading examinations, giving students a formal way to measure and demonstrate their progress.
Global Art's teachers are professionally trained to guide students toward a higher level of artistic appreciation and skill. To maintain these standards, teachers are regularly sent for overseas training courses and take part in the annual International Art Competition themselves, gaining further experience they bring back to the classroom.
