Capital Builders was established in 2000 by Brent Sarten, who initially began his professional career as an accountant before discovering his true calling for building during a home renovation project. After completing that job, Brent left accounting to pursue his building qualification, with Capital Builders' first big project being the construction of his own new family home. The team went on to specialise in extensions and renovations, particularly older villas that needed to retain their character while becoming better living environments.
Today, led by Brent, Capital Builders is a team of seven, including two experienced foremen with 30+ years of experience between them. As Licensed Building Practitioners and members of the NZ Certified Builders Association, the team provides a 10-year warranty on all their work, and offers a full project management service, from liaising with architects and designers to managing council requirements and consents.

Senior Foreman Cam has been building since he was 18 and now organises the team's day-to-day site work, while apprentices Jarrod and Mitchell bring their own varied backgrounds and enthusiasm to the team.
