About Aurora Argentinian Bakery

Aurora Argentinian Bakery (Medialunas Aurora) is a Wellington bakery bringing traditional Argentine baking to New Zealand, founded by Mariana and Facundo, originally from Buenos Aires and Cordoba, Argentina. The pair met in Wellington in 2017 and started their own traditional Argentinian bakery in early 2020, aiming to share a piece of their culture through freshly baked goods.

The bakery specialises in medialunas (plain, with dulce de leche, or vanilla custard), alongside pastries like cañoncitos, cinnamon rolls, chocolate rolls, criollos, pañuelos, tortita negra, and fruit-filled pastries such as ciruela and manzana. A full vegan range covers vegan medialunas, vegan cinnamon rolls and vegan assorted packs. The menu also includes empanadas sold in combo packs, alfajores, and a range of celebration cakes including Rogel, Donatella, Black Forest, Valentina and Matilda cakes. Beyond baked goods, the bakery also serves pizzas, sandwiches, facturitas and coffee, and offers catering for weddings, birthdays, morning tea meetings and office celebrations.

Aurora operates from two Wellington locations: the main bakery on Manners Street, Te Aro, and a cafe on The Terrace, Wellington Central. Orders can be placed online for next-day pickup at either site if placed by 2pm.
