Richmond Preschool is an early learning centre on Oxford Street in Richmond, Tasman, taking children from 6 months through to school age. The centre opened in 2017 and is locally owned and operated, run by a team of early childhood teachers led by owner-manager Stacey Gallagher. The building has large play areas at both the front and rear, with the rear playground built around exploratory areas, a play fort and a sandpit, and a curriculum designed around each child's own pace and developmental needs. Children heading off to school go through the Kea Club, a transition programme shaped by what local new entrant teachers say they look for in children starting school. The preschool runs all year round, closing only for statutory public holidays rather than school holidays.
