The Wellness Club (TWC) is a luxury wellness space at Pukekohe Park Gate 3 on Manukau Road in Karaka, on Auckland's southern edge, where contrast therapy, mindful movement and practical workshops come together under one roof. Guided sauna and ice bath sessions sit at the heart of the offering, supported by mat pilates, breathwork and emotional regulation workshops, mindfulness and self-awareness sessions, and yoga nidra meditation.
The club's signature event is the Luxury Day Retreat — a full day, 9am to 4pm, for a small group at a luxury location. The day bundles a guided sauna and ice bath session, mat pilates, workshops, a wholesome lunch featuring gourmet woodfire pizzas plus all-day snacks, a cocktail or mocktail, and yoga nidra to close. Everything is designed for all levels, no prior experience is needed, and solo attendees are warmly welcomed with plenty of chances to meet and connect.
Beyond the retreat, The Wellness Club runs community events such as fun runs and Golf & Glow, offers private hire for unique wellness offerings and events, and sells gift cards. The club opens Monday and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings, with bookings made online through its timetable.
The Wellness Club (TWC) sits at Pukekohe Park Gate 3 on Manukau Road in Karaka, on the rural southern edge of Auckland — and it is not your average gym or day spa. It is a luxury wellness space built around a simple idea: feeling better is a skill you can learn and practise. Heat and cold therapy, mindful movement and down-to-earth workshops all happen under one roof, guided throughout by the TWC team.
Visitors come first for contrast therapy — guided sauna and ice bath sessions that pair deep heat with bracing cold. Nothing is left to guesswork. Sessions are guided from start to finish, and the teaching doesn't stop at the sauna door: mindfulness is taught using the sauna itself as a live example of what happens in your mind when your body is under stress, and of how awareness changes that experience.
Mat pilates rounds out the movement side of the timetable, and workshops are where the club does its deepest teaching. In the breathwork and emotional regulation session you learn how to breathe correctly, how breathing can be used to regulate feelings and emotions, and some quick practices you can take home to instantly shift your mood. The mindfulness workshop unpacks what mindfulness and meditation actually are, how to practise them and the benefits they bring to overall performance. The self-awareness session asks the harder questions: why is self-awareness so difficult, and how do we notice the stories we hold to be true that trigger counter-productive thoughts and behaviours?
Everything mixes discussion, teaching and activity — movement, relaxing meditations and mindful breathing exercises — and every offering closes with yoga nidra, a guided meditation the club describes as perfect for relaxation, rest and rejuvenation.
The club's signature event bundles all of it into a single day. The Luxury Day Retreat runs 9am to 4pm at a luxury location, for a small group. A ticket includes a guided sauna and ice bath session, mat pilates, a breathwork and emotional regulation workshop, a mindfulness and self-awareness workshop, and yoga nidra meditation to finish. Food is part of the day too: a wholesome lunch — including gourmet woodfire pizzas — plus snacks throughout, and one cocktail or mocktail.
The day is deliberately beginner friendly. No prior knowledge or experience is required, and every activity suits all levels. There is no expectation to contribute or share in workshops; group discussion is encouraged but never mandatory to your enjoyment. Solo attendees are explicitly welcomed — the programme is packed with opportunities to meet, connect and build new friendships — and you have full access to the TWC team all day to ask questions and learn something new. The club's promise: you leave feeling refreshed, connected, nourished and energised.
Beyond the retreat, The Wellness Club keeps a calendar of community events, from the Bombay Farm Fun Run & Walk to Golf & Glow, which has already sold out once. The space is also available for private hire for unique wellness offerings, retreats and events, and gift cards cover it all for the hard-to-buy-for people in your life.
Regular hours are Monday and Thursday evenings, 5:30pm to 8:30pm, and Sunday mornings, 8:30am to 10:30am. Sessions and retreat tickets are booked online via the club's timetable, and the team can be reached on 027 463 3916 or at [email protected]. If you have been ice-bath-curious, pilates-keen or meditation-mystified, this is an approachable place to start: everything is guided, everything is all-levels, and the emphasis is as much on understanding your own mind as on challenging your body.
