Tucked onto Cobham Road in Kerikeri, Ferment wears three hats at once: wine merchant, wine shop and wine bar. It is an adults-only destination — you will be asked to confirm you are 18 or over the moment you arrive, in person or online — built for people who take their wine seriously without ever taking themselves too seriously.

The shop is established, owned and operated in Kerikeri by Steve White, and its origin story is disarmingly honest: big dreams, hard work and a healthy sense of humour. A deep and varied cellar

Inside, the shelves run broad and deep. New Zealand reds are sorted into pinot noir, syrah, cabernet/merlot blends and 'other', while the whites cover sauvignon blanc, pinot gris, chardonnay, riesling and the aromatics. There is a dedicated rosé collection, a Champagne and sparkling section spanning Champagne, méthode traditionelle and prosecco, an Aged & Rare cellar selection, and an international shelf gathering wines from Australia, France, Spain, Italy and beyond.
