One Body Wellness is a light-filled wellness space in the heart of Cromwell, opened in May 2021, bringing pelvic health physiotherapy, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, osteopathy and Pilates together under one roof. Consults are one-on-one, and the Pilates studio runs both private sessions and small group reformer classes on state-of-the-art equipment. The approach is deliberately holistic, suited to complex and longstanding complaints — back and pelvic pain, headaches, postural strain, joint and muscle injury — with the goal of helping you get back to your best.
The clinic grew from a shared vision between founders Nicky and Bec, two healthcare providers with five young children between them, who wanted a community-minded space where all hurts are listened to and treatment runs from hands-on therapy through to rehabilitative exercise and beyond. Goals are celebrated here, big (that marathon) or small (picking up your baby without pain).
The team is led by osteopath Dr Rebecca Brugman, pelvic health physiotherapist Nicky Croft and musculoskeletal physiotherapist Claire Weaver. The osteopaths and physiotherapists are ACC accredited, specialising in western medical acupuncture and clinical Pilates–based exercise rehabilitation, with evidence-based care for injury and pre- and post-surgical management. Women's pelvic health physiotherapy covers Cromwell and Central Otago, including Alexandra, Clyde, Omakau and Roxburgh.
You'll find them upstairs at 1B Traders Lane, off McNulty Road — with parking at the door, a spot for folded prams, evening sessions on Mondays and Thursdays, and a light-filled studio available for hire.
One Body Wellness is a bright, light-filled wellness space in the heart of Cromwell, opened in May 2021 at 1B Traders Lane. What makes it a little unusual is how much sits under one roof: one-on-one pelvic health physiotherapy, musculoskeletal physiotherapy and osteopathy consultations, alongside a Pilates studio running both private sessions and small-group reformer classes. The team takes a deliberately holistic approach, working with complex and longstanding complaints — back and pelvic pain, headaches, postural strain, and joint and muscle injuries — with the simple aim of helping people get back to their best.
The clinic began with a conversation between two healthcare providers, Nicky and Bec, who met and realised that two minds are better than one — especially with five young children between them. The idea they nurtured was a local, community-minded space where all hurts are listened to and treatment plans run all the way from hands-on treatment through to rehabilitative exercise and beyond. Just as importantly, it is a place where goals are celebrated, whether yours is as big as ticking off a marathon or as small as picking up your baby without pain.
Pelvic health physiotherapy is one of the clinic's cornerstones. Whether you are planning to become a mum, are pregnant or are a new mother, or you are dealing with continence issues, constipation or pelvic pain, seeing a women's pelvic health physiotherapist is a practical way to assess what is going on and learn how to help your body recover. Dedicated Mama-to-be and Postnatal pelvic health checks give pregnancy and the months after birth their own focused attention.
Alongside this, the osteopaths and physiotherapists are ACC accredited and specialise in western medical acupuncture and clinical Pilates–based exercise rehabilitation. Assessment delves into your physical and emotional wellbeing as well as providing evidence-based treatment for injury and pre- and post-surgical management. The team takes pride in knowing each practitioner's strengths — osteopathy and physiotherapy often complement rather than compete — and will happily refer within the clinic, or externally, when that serves you better.
Pilates here is led by physiotherapists and osteopaths on state-of-the-art equipment, including reformers. Options range from one-on-one clinical Pilates with a personalised program — popular for returning to exercise after injury or surgery, and before or after pregnancy — to small 4-person reformer classes and a higher-intensity 8-person reformer plus mat Pilates class. If you prefer to move on your own schedule, the solo kiosk reformer can be booked for self-guided sessions following physio-led video classes.
New classes are added on demand, and the team invites you to email with the times and styles you are looking for. The studio's outlook is neatly summed up by the Joseph Pilates quote it shares: “If your spine is stiff at 30, you are old. If it is flexible at 60, you are young.”
The practitioners behind it all are osteopath Dr Rebecca Brugman, pelvic health physiotherapist Nicky Croft and musculoskeletal physiotherapist Claire Weaver. Osteopathy, musculoskeletal physiotherapy and reformer Pilates all run from the Cromwell wellness space, while women's pelvic health physiotherapy reaches throughout Central Otago, covering Alexandra, Clyde, Omakau and Roxburgh.
You will find One Body Wellness at 1B Traders Lane — enter from McNulty Road and it is the first building on your left, upstairs on the first floor above the old entrance to Junction Health. There is plenty of parking in the Traders Lane bays and on McNulty Road, with a disabled park in the complex. Prams are trickier with stairs, so leave the buggy in the car if you can, or park it folded at the entrance at the base of the stairs.
Listed hours run Monday to Friday, with the contact page noting 6–8pm sessions on Mondays and Thursdays — handy around work and school pickups. Appointments are limited, so booking online through the clinic's booking system is the surest way to secure a time. The light-filled studio is also available to hire for talks, workshops and classes — get in touch if you would like to use the space.
