EpicLines is a Christchurch-based design and fabrication business operating two divisions: Motorhomes, making lines for the discerning, and Surf, making lines for the lineup. It is a division of BinaryMist Limited, based in North New Brighton.
The business is built around the founder's unusual career path — someone who grew up by the beach in Christchurch, began repairing surfboards at age nine, gained work experience and then a full-time role at Canterbury Wetsuits (now SeventhWave), and completed a carpentry apprenticeship followed by carpentry foreman roles and running a carpentry business. That practical building background was followed by 23 years across more than 35 roles in technology and consultancy, spanning software testing, software engineering, software architecture and specialised security roles including penetration testing and application security engineering. The launch of the business followed redundancy from GuardRails, an Application Security startup, giving the clarity to redirect professional skills toward a lifelong constructive passion.
EpicLines brings these threads together across motorhome design and fabrication on one side, and surf products on the other. Both divisions are held to the same standard: engineering rigour combined with uncompromising craftsmanship, in both the seen and unseen details of a build.
