Bexley Wetland in Christchurch is a wetland area upstream of the Avon Heathcote estuary, now on land cleared following the earthquakes, offering well-maintained, well-graded walking paths. It is a fantastic spot for bird watching, with wading birds such as spoonbills, oystercatchers and godwits regularly seen.
