Russley Playcentre is a parent-attended early childhood centre at 8 Apsley Drive in Russley, Christchurch. Parents attend alongside their children, which the website says makes Playcentre different from other early childhood organisations. Children learn through play based on their own interests, and the website says siblings attend together, so older children can mentor younger ones. Parents help run the learning programmes, and the adult-to-child ratio is high. The centre welcomes children aged 0 to 6, and the website says there are three free visits before enrolling. It also offers a free, NZQA-approved adult education programme for enrolled whānau. Playcentre is a charitable trust, and the centres follow the Te Whāriki curriculum.
