A trade supplier of car paint and panel repair materials on Innovation Road in Islington, Christchurch, rather than a general hardware shop. It serves the panelbeating, car paint and marine trades, and its range is paint, tools and equipment for those jobs.
RJP Performance Coatings and Supplies joined the RA Johnstone group in 2019, which brought the South Island branches into a business that has imported and distributed trade paint and equipment since 1947. The group works with manufacturers from around the world, so the range is built for professional repairers and boat builders rather than home renovators.
For a body shop or a marine yard, the point of buying here is the match between a supplier with long roots in the trade and the paint and tools a job calls for. The South Island network covers Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin, so a trade customer in any of those cities can be served through the same group.
