R&S Trade Centre is a hardware store at 68 Montreal Street in Sydenham, Christchurch, rated 4.9 from 179 Google reviews, with a website. Customers describe knowledgeable, helpful staff who go above and beyond, quick replies, same-day delivery and simple online ordering. Painting and plaster supplies are mentioned most, and reviewers also mention free lollies.
A good trade-focused hardware store stocks professional-grade materials and tools, and staff who understand the job and can advise on products, quantities and compatibility. Trade centres often serve painters, plasterers and builders, so it helps to know what you need, bring measurements and ask which products tradespeople prefer. Regulars know that ordering ahead online or by phone saves time, that same-day delivery can rescue a tight job, that buying enough product from the same batch avoids colour differences in paint and that staff are a good source of tips on preparation and finishes. Ask about trade accounts, bulk pricing and returns. Early mornings are busiest with trade customers, so a mid-morning visit is easier. Check the website for ordering and opening times.
