Personal Trainer Uther Henderson rounds out the team, bringing an evidence-based training approach and a background spanning martial arts, powerlifting, aerial skills and yoga.

The studio also partners with 1 Health in Wigram and rehab specialists Optimal Performance to give members access to a wider rehab support system.
In Hillmorton, Christchurch, Mint Gym + Nutrition takes what it calls a whole health approach — treating physical fitness, nutrition, mental health and community connection as parts of the same picture rather than separate concerns.
Mint's stated purpose is to help people better understand their health and improve it in order to better their lives. The studio's approach rests on four pillars: an integrated whole health approach across fitness, metabolic health, nutrition and mental health; helping members understand and connect with their own bodies through health education; delivering function-based, real results for real life; and building genuine community rather than just running a gym.
Mike McCauley leads Mint as Master Trainer, describing himself as part coach, part strategist and part wellness architect. He blends strength and recovery work with Pilates and programming, crafting plans for real people with real lives — and sometimes real injuries — including pilates-modified plans for those recovering from injury. Mike also has a background in clinical nutrition practice dating back to 1989, with a particular interest in sports nutrition and how food affects both performance and the body's ability to heal.
Di McCauley serves as Mint's Lead Clinical Nutritionist. A Qualified Clinical Nutritionist and Medical Herbalist, she has maintained clinical practice since 1989 and has worked with athletes since 2003, focusing much of her time on performance athletes and research into body composition. Her specialist interests include sports nutrition, nutrigenomics and epigenetics, and she has seen good results among clients and athletes using a ketogenic programme.
Personal Trainer Uther Henderson brings an evidence-based training approach shaped by a diverse athletic background spanning martial arts, powerlifting, aerial skills and four years of yoga practice. Having managed Cystic Fibrosis for 28 years, Uther is driven by a personal understanding of how essential consistent training is to health, and aims to make every client feel welcome in the fitness space regardless of experience or background.
Mint's fitness offering centres on individualised training sessions with expert trainers, while its nutrition services span both clinical nutrition — tailored around health conditions — and lifestyle nutrition aimed at extending life and improving day-to-day wellbeing. The studio also offers Longevity Fitness programming for members focused on long-term health, and has partnered with rehab specialists Optimal Performance to deliver a rehab support system for members working through injuries. Mint also works with local healthcare provider 1 Health in Wigram.
