Bettr is an online doctor service, listed in Bexley, Christchurch, where patients see a New Zealand registered doctor 24 hours a day by video or phone. There is no app to download, and the website says same-day appointments are often available. Prescriptions are sent to the pharmacy of the patient's choice. Patients need a smartphone, tablet or laptop with a camera, and can book for family members too. The website says Bettr is an accredited provider of Health NZ's 24/7 online GP service.
The website lists fees as at 2026. Enrolled patients pay $35 to $45, or $10 to $25 for CSC holders, and under-14s are free. Casual patients pay $79 for those aged 18 and over. A $10 surcharge applies between 10pm and 8am and on public holidays. Customers praise the helpful doctors, the clear explanations and the quick appointments. One said a doctor explained a child's exam stress, strep throat and eczema clearly, and another said online care was convenient when they could not leave home. The website says online care does not suit urgent problems that need a physical exam, or controlled drugs.
