Heathcote Valley Community Centre is a community hall at 45 Bridle Path Road in Heathcote Valley, Christchurch. It was completed at the end of 2016. The Christchurch City Council owns the building, and the Heathcote Valley Community Association runs it under a memorandum of understanding. Any profits from bookings go back into the local community. The centre hosts a range of weekly activities, and the website lists its bookings email for hiring the space. Five community noticeboards around the valley let residents post notices about events, garage sales, services and items for sale. Political and offensive notices are not allowed.
The Heathcote Community Sports Club shares the site, down the driveway between the school and the community centre. It plays lawn bowls on summer evenings and Sunday afternoons, petanque on Sunday mornings, and indoor bowls and table tennis in winter. Coaching is given free to people who have not played before, and the club rooms can be hired. Heathcote Cricket Club, also based in the valley, has ten adult teams, including a women's side, and seven junior teams. Our pick in Heathcote Valley for a community hall with a social sports club next door.
