BestStart Redwood is a childcare centre at 302 to 304 Main North Road in Redwood, Christchurch. The centre describes itself as growing and learning together, with the Māori phrase tipu me te ako tahi. Its kaiako (teachers) say they recognise and support the mana of each tamaiti (child), and its curriculum is responsive, with language and cultural materials built into the day. The programme balances structured activities with self-directed exploration, and children have access to resources for music, painting and other creative play.
Families can book a visit at a time that suits them, with preferred times between 9am and 3pm on the website, and can ask the centre about enrolment. The centre is award-winning. Open Locally lists three other childcare centres within a kilometre. The nearest is Learning Curves Preschool, 0.1 km away and rated 5.0 from two reviews, and Redwood Playcentre and Kids Base Redwood are 0.4 km and 0.5 km away.
