VIP CUTS 2 Barbershop is a barbershop at 101 Main North Road in Papanui, Christchurch, holding a strong 4.8 rating on Google. Barbering is as much clipper craft as scissor work — fades, tapers and beard line-ups are the trade's signature — and a good barber asks how you actually wear your hair before the clippers come out, since a cut taken too tight can grow out badly. Knowing your grades (a three back and sides, a two fading up) or bringing a photo beats asking for a tidy-up. Regulars tend to settle on one barber who has learned the cowlicks at their crown, and once you've found that, loyalty pays. Checking whether a shop books ahead or runs walk-in also saves queuing on a Saturday. For Papanui locals and anyone passing along Main North Road, this well-rated neighbourhood shop makes the regular trim an easy errand.
