Pint and Pony is Halswell's friendly neighbourhood sports bar and bottle shop, sitting on Hamill Road in Christchurch. It's built around a simple promise: the game's always on, the food hits the spot, and everyone feels like a regular. Inside you'll find wall-to-wall live sports coverage, ice-cold pints, a proper wine list and a kitchen turning out pub favourites done right.

There's plenty to do beyond the screens — throw a round of darts, get into the weekly raffles, catch live music or make the most of promotional drink specials. The menu covers all the classics, from garlic bread, steak cut chips and homemade onion rings to a 250g rump steak, beer battered fish and chips, and the house Pony Burger stacked with beetroot chutney and onion rings. Handmade pizzas, crunchy salads and desserts like the chocolate lava cake round things out, and kids 12 and under get their own combo meals.

A bottle shop operates on site daily until 9pm, and the wine list runs from riesling and sauvignon blanc to pinot noir, bubbles and champagne. Open 11am to 11pm, seven days a week, Pint and Pony is Halswell's go-to for food, drinks, fun and laughs — come for the pint, stay for the party.
