A motel and tavern on the corner of Main South Road and Trent Road in Templeton, Christchurch, the Golden Mile has 14 studio-style units, sleeping two, three or double, twin or triple. The website calls it budget accommodation and says it is about 12 minutes from the airport and the Antarctic Centre.
Each unit is on the ground floor, with a small patio onto a grassed area and a full kitchen. Guests park in the central courtyard. Pets are welcome with no extra charge. A free courtesy van takes guests to and from the local wineries that host weddings. The family-friendly restaurant is across the car park, open seven days, with a $10 lunch range from 11am to 2pm as at 2026, a dinner menu from 5pm to 8.30pm, and a kids' menu. The tavern has a TAB, a gaming room and sport on large screens. The restaurant can be hired for parties and events.
