Harlequin Musical Theatre is a community-driven performing arts organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality musical theatre and theatrical productions. Originally established in 1959 as the Howick Light Opera Group, the organisation has produced over 90 shows across more than five decades, evolving into a cornerstone of local performing arts.

The entirely volunteer-run company brings together performers, crew, and theatre enthusiasts from across the region to produce engaging live entertainment, host community events, and provide costume and venue hire services.
For more than six decades, Harlequin Musical Theatre has served as a creative home for local actors, singers, technicians, and theatre enthusiasts. Originally formed in 1959 under the name Howick Light Opera Group, the organisation has built a rich legacy on the stage, staging more than 90 productions over the past fifty years.
