About Frasers

Frasers is an all-day eatery and cafe in the heart of the Mount Eden shops, on a corner it has called home for over 25 years, on a site with roots stretching back to the 1870s. It serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, coffee and cake seven days a week, open daily from 6:30am.

Weekday mornings bring porridge, granola, eggs Benedict, smashed avocado, Turkish eggs, hotcakes and breakfast burgers, served 6:30am to 11am. Weekend brunch runs longer, from 6:30am through to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. Lunch covers burgers, fish and chips, prawn linguine, steak sandwiches and risotto alongside brunch favourites, and dinner from 3pm turns more substantial, with sharing plates, steak, pork belly, pan-fried snapper, a daily roast and fresh pasta.

Coffee is a point of pride, with some regulars said to have ordered the same coffee here for fifteen years, and cakes and tarts are made in house, with whole cakes available to order ahead for takeaway. The bar runs a deep wine list alongside tap and bottled beer, cider, cocktails and mocktails, plus a daily Happy Hour from 3pm to 6pm. Frasers also hosts a Sunday to Thursday Local's Dinner - a two-course set menu with a glass of house wine or beer - and runs seasonal set menus and occasions like a Valentine's three-course menu.

Frasers: A Mount Eden All-Day Eatery With 25 Years of History

Frasers has held its corner of the Mount Eden shops for over 25 years, on a site with roots stretching back to the 1870s. It's an all-day eatery built around a simple idea: come as you are, and stay as long as you like.

A Day That Runs From Coffee to Wine

Frasers opens early and stays open late, seven days a week from 6:30am. Weekday mornings move through porridge, granola, eggs Benedict, smashed avocado, Turkish eggs, hotcakes and breakfast burgers, served until 11am. On weekends, brunch stretches from 6:30am right through to 3pm on both Saturday and Sunday, giving no reason to rush a bagel, a Benedict, hotcakes or a pot of coffee.

Lunch brings burgers, fish and chips, prawn linguine, steak sandwiches and risotto alongside the brunch menu, while dinner from 3pm turns more substantial - sharing plates like calamari, Korean fried chicken and tiger prawns to start, or the Frasers Platter for the table, followed by steak, crispy pork belly, pan-fried market fish, the roast of the day, or fresh pasta.

Coffee and Cake

Coffee is central to Frasers' identity - some regulars are said to have ordered the same coffee here for fifteen years. Every cup is made by baristas who've poured plenty in their time, whether it's a flat white at half six or a long black stretching into the afternoon. Cakes and tarts are made in house, with whole cakes available to order ahead for takeaway occasions.

Wine, Beer and Cocktails

As the day turns to evening, Frasers' bar comes into its own. The wine list runs deep across whites, reds, rosé and sparkling, alongside tap and bottled beer, cider, hand-crafted cocktails and mocktails for anyone sitting out the alcohol. Everything is available by the glass or the bottle, whether you're staying for dinner or just staying a while. A daily Happy Hour runs from 3pm to 6pm.

The Local's Dinner

Sunday to Thursday from 5pm until late, Frasers runs a two-course Local's Dinner, pairing a choice of entree and main from the dinner menu with a glass of house wine or beer - a relaxed, set-price way to enjoy an evening without the full à la carte menu.

Built for Occasions

Over 25 years, Frasers has hosted plenty of birthdays and celebrations, and still takes requests to help mark the occasion. Group bookings and long lunches are catered for with the right space set aside, and the dining room doubles as a date night spot - low light, good wine, and food worth lingering over. Beyond the everyday menu, Frasers runs seasonal set menus and occasions like a Valentine's three-course menu each February.

Booking a Table

Frasers has always been a walk-in-and-be-welcomed kind of place, but weekends and busier evenings fill up, so booking ahead - online or by phone - means the right table gets saved.
