About Olea Cafe
Olea Café and Eatery is Highbrook's little oasis in the middle of the industrial hustle, serving artisan coffee and proper food whether you're powering through a workday, sealing a deal over coffee, or just want a lunch break away from a car park view. On weekends, the pace slows down into long brunches, good company, and meals worth lingering over.
The menu blends brunch classics with Korean-inspired flavours — think gochujang glaze, kimchi-style slaw and Korean fried chicken alongside eggs benedict, toasties and a full coffee, tea, juice and smoothie list. A drinks list extending to wine, bubbles and beer rounds out the offering for later in the day.
Families are looked after too, with kids eating free on weekends (one free kids meal per full paying adult, for children 12 and under). Olea also has a sister company, Olea Catering, for anyone looking to bring the same food to an event.
Olea Café and Eatery: Highbrook's Coffee and Brunch Oasis
Tucked into the middle of Highbrook's industrial hustle, Olea Café and Eatery has built itself into a genuine local oasis. Whether it's powering through a big workday, sealing a deal over coffee, or just wanting a proper lunch break away from a car park view, Olea leans on artisan coffee that actually wakes you up and food good enough to make a 2pm meeting feel like a treat instead of a chore.
Weekday Fuel, Weekend Ease
Come the weekend, or once the workday winds down, Olea swaps the business hats for something more relaxed — long brunches, good company, and the kind of meal that makes you linger longer than planned. It's a cafe built to work both ways: efficient during the week, unhurried on weekends.
Brunch with a Korean Edge
The menu covers the classics — Eggs Your Way, the Olea Omelette, and Olea Eggs Benedict with hash brown and hollandaise — but it's not afraid to lean into bolder flavours. Korean chicken with gochujang glaze can be added to the eggs benedict, while the Korean Chicken Burger and Korean Fried Chicken snack both bring herb slaw, pickled red onion and gochujang glaze into the mix. The Tom Yum Prawn Pasta, made with house-made tom yum paste, coconut cream and a poached egg, shows a similar willingness to mix things up.
Toasties, Sides and Snacks
For something heartier, the Chicken Parmy Toastie and Braised Beef Toastie both come loaded with fries, garden salad and aioli, while the Olea Open Sandwich piles pan-seared beef and asian chimichurri onto toasted rye sourdough. Snacks run from herb dusted and kumara fries through to crispy salt and pepper squid, with a full range of breakfast sides available to build your own plate.
A Full Drinks List
Olea's coffee program runs from espresso and flat whites through to a house cold brew, V60 filter coffee, and speciality options like the Purple Kumara Latte and Matcha Latte. The tea list uses Harney & Sons, alongside house-brewed lemon honey ginger and iced tea. For something cold and fresh, there's a full smoothie and juice list, including an Immune Juice and the Forever Young smoothie. Later in the day, Olea also pours wine, Prosecco and a small beer selection.
Kids Eat Free
Olea runs a kids-eat-free offer on weekends, giving one free kids meal per full paying adult for children 12 and under — a genuine help for families wanting a proper weekend brunch out without the extra cost.
